Let Us Play

Outdoor Exhibitions & Book

‘Let Us Play’ – Outdoor Exhibitions & Publication

Exhibitions:

Balsall Heath City Farm, 25th June – 25th July
Meriden Adventure Playground, Chelmsley Wood 28th July – 31st August

As part of Let us Play, two new personal archives of material relating to the adventure playground movement in Birmingham were discovered. Former playworkers Geoff Gaisford  & Dave Swingle kept photographic and written material that offers fascinating new perspectives on the history of play within the city. The outdoor exhibitions focus on the presentation of these extraordinary archives. Significantly, the exhibition occurs on the site of the old Malvern Street adventure playground in Balsall Heath.

Publication:

A book is been produced capturing the entirety of the project. If you would like a copy, please email us at generalpublicprojects@gmail.com with your address (the book is available on a first come, first served basis). If would also be useful to know why you are interested in the book (are you a playworker for instance?).
